Phil Hoffmann Travel Solo Traveller Tips
- When travelling from your hotel to the airport, go with a cab recommended by the hotel
- Try to reserve your hotel in advance, preferably with a hotel that has an airport/station collection service
- Consider travelling on a fully escorted tour whereby mingling with other travelling companions is encouraged
- Try to learn some basic phrases in the foreign language. Don't expect that people will speak English
- Read the guide books and talk with other tourists to find out which areas are of the greatest benefit and interest and which are best avoided
- Make eye contact and smile. Smiling at others shows you're open to making friends, and in some cases, that you are a fellow traveller
- Be flexible and take advantage of a moment when an exciting opportunity presents itself
- Ask questions as this starts a conversation and opens you up to opportunities for further pursual
- Elective twin share passengers may be subject to single supplement conditions should the share partner need to cancel for any reason
