The Indian Pacific has earned its reputation as one of the world's great train journeys, delivering a spectacular array of iconic Australian landscapes, sensational sightseeing, and a focus on high-level hospitality. The transcontinental journey takes guests from the Pacific Ocean and the heart of Sydney to Perth on the coast of the Indian Ocean in the West. The Indian Pacific departs Sydney twice a week, leaving Saturday and Wednesday and departs Perth every Wednesday and Sunday. All in all, the Indian Pacific offers a journey like no other. There's no better way to enjoy a trip between Melbourne and Adelaide than on the historic Overland. The Overland first pioneered intercapital rail travel in 1887. Its name is inspired by the historic “Overlanders” who travelled on horseback to and from the cities of Melbourne and Adelaide. The Overland offers daylight services between Adelaide and Melbourne and vice versa three times a week. Two levels of service are available; Red Premium and Red Standard Service.

A daylight service in both directions means you can take in the views, hire a portable DVD or purchase a magazine or newspaper from our Cafe Carriage. How you pass the time is up to you with the freedom to move about and mingle at your leisure. Sit back relax and enjoy your journey between the two cosmopolitan cities arriving in time for dinner.
