The "New" Overland

Adelaide - Melbourne

There's no better way to enjoy a trip between Melbourne and Adelaide than on the historic Overland. The Overland first pioneered intercapital rail travel in 1887. Its name is inspired by the historic “Overlanders” who travelled on horseback to and from the cities of Melbourne and Adelaide. The Overland offers daylight services between Adelaide and Melbourne and vice versa three times a week. Two levels of service are available; Red Premium and Red Standard Service.

A daylight service in both directions means you can take in the views, hire a portable DVD or purchase a magazine or newspaper from our Cafe Carriage.
