Ship spotters of Adelaide - get ready!

on 24 Nov 2017
The 2017/18 cruise season runs from October 2017 to March 2018 and will see a total of 68 cruise ships visit South Australia, up from 52 visits in 2016/17. With 37 cruise liner visits to Flinders Ports’ Port Adelaide Passenger Terminal, 21 to Kangaroo Island and 10 calling at Flinders Ports’ Port Lincoln facility, the state’s popularity as a cruise destination continues to grow.
This season will have the Mega cruise liner, Ovation of the Seas, the world’s third largest cruise ship call twice into Adelaide. There will be a welcome return of the Queen Mary II in February, and the Norwegian Jewel, Noordam, Ocean Dream, Azamara Journey, Regatta and the L’Austral will make their inaugural visits to South Australia during this season. Port Lincoln will host the 290 metre, 3,200 passenger Golden Princess twice in the 2018 season, as well as many first time callers to the West Coast port.
If you are interested in cruise ships and would like to catch a glimpse of these floating palaces as they sail through South Australian waters, the best vantage points in Adelaide are Semaphore or Lady Ruthven Reserve.
