Antarctica in a Day!
on 10 Nov 2021
Become one of the privileged few to witness the desolate beauty and unparalleled views of the Great White Continent on the world’s most unique scenic flight – Antarctica in a Day.
Departing from Adelaide Airport, this is a special opportunity not to be missed as you experience the untamed polar desert of the south from the comfort of a Qantas 787 Dreamliner with windows 65% larger than those found on a similar sized aircraft – perfect for viewing the vast white wilderness below. Travelling during the Antarctic summer, you’ll enjoy a birds-eye view of endless mountain ranges, glaciers, and mesmerising ice plateaus.
“I have been very fortunate to have some incredible travel experiences over my lifetime, but I have to say, this flight over Antarctica is right up there as one of the best. Nothing can quite prepare you for the unbelievable views of this truly unique destination” says Phil Hoffmann Travel Managing Director, Phil Hoffmann.
“It’s made more special by the fascinating commentary by the Antarctic explorers onboard and live crosses to research stations on the ground. This is one to tick off the bucket list as soon as you can!”
A few hours into the flight you’ll begin to see the first bits of scattered ice followed by dozens of icebergs and ice floes. Once you cross the South Magnetic Pole you will begin to view the rugged mountainous topography of the Antarctic mainland. No two flights are the same as the experienced pilots choose between 19 planned flights paths, determined by weather conditions amongst other factors. With a duration between 12 and 14 hours, you’ll enjoy up to four hours over the ice with plenty of time to take photos and soak up the awe-inspiring sights. The flight includes two full-service Qantas meals plus inflight snacks, full bar service including champagne, wine, soft drinks, beer and spirits, an Explorers kit and movies and documentaries to watch from the state-of-the-art entertainment system. With a rotational seating plan in all seating classes except Explorer Economy Class, choose between Standard, Superior or Premium Economy Class, Business Class or Business Class Deluxe on this unforgettable trip of a lifetime.
To ensure the health and safety of all passengers and crew onboard, all passengers must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, with additional protective measures in place. With a commitment to the environment and a mission to protect this pristine environment for future generations, all Antarctica Flights are carbon neutral.
The last remaining seats are available for next year’s flight departing on 16 January 2022. The flight departing on 5 February 2023 is on sale now. Prices start from $2,199.00 per person.
