Depart Adelaide
Travel from Adelaide to Singapore. On arrival transfer to Clarke Quay for an
overnight stay.

Day 2: Monday 13 Jan 2025
Singapore to Siem Reap
Travel from Singapore to Siem Reap. On arrival transfer to the resort and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. (B)

Day 3: Tuesday 14 Jan 2025
Siem Reap
Today will be spent discovering the temples and relics of the ancient Khmer Empire. Begin with an early morning to watch the sun rise across Angkor Wat, the largest and best preserved temple in the complex. Visit the walled city of Angkor Thom, before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. Later visit the photogenic Ta Prohm Temple which has been left just as it was when rediscovered, complete with trees growing in and around the ruins. This evening dine at a local restaurant while enjoying a performance by the Phare Artists, a local theater, music, dance and modern circus troupe. (B,L,D)
Day 4: Wednesday 15 Jan 2025
Siem Reap to Kampong Cham
After breakfast travel to Kampong Cham with lunch enroute. Later board the Victoria Mekong cruise ship— home for further local exploration for the next 7 nights. Cruising the Mekong presents a unique opportunity to get up and close with local villagers and witness their day to day life. Meet the crew and watch the sunset over the river before dinner and a short presentation about Cambodia. (B,L,D)
Day 5: Thursday 16 Jan 2025
Mekong River
Disembark today in the village of Angkor Ban with its quaint wooden stilt houses and witness how local and isolated regional villages go about day to day life. After lunch travel to Silk Island by tuk-tuk and learn all about the process of silk weaving from worm to loom, and watch as local families weave the traditional Cambodian krama. (B,L,D)
Day 6: Friday 17 Jan 2025
Mekong River
After breakfast embark on a walkingtour of the village of Koh Chen to meet local copper and silversmiths. Later travel to Oudong, the ancient capital of Cambodia via the Dhura Meditation Centre and witness the study of the local monks. (B,L,D)
Day 7: Saturday 18 Jan 2025
Mekong River
Today visit the modern Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh. Begin with the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda Complex, with its 5,000 silver floor tiles, and the jewelled Buddha statues considered to be National Treasures. Walk to the nearby National Museum housing the worlds largest collection of Khmer Art. After lunch drive to Choeung Ek, one of the mass grave sites of the Killing Fields. Today the site is home to a Buddhist stupa honoring the victims. Back onboard the ship enjoy a local performance of Khmer Aspara dancing and meet some of the performers. (B,L,D)
Day 8: Sunday 19 Jan 2025
Mekong River
Enjoy some quiet time and activities onboard the ship this morning as the Victoria Mekong crosses the border from Cambodia to Vietnam. After lunch travel by rickshaw to visit a local market and colourful temples, the spiritual centre for local communities. Return to the ship for a traditional Lion Dance followed by dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 9: Monday 20 Jan 2025
Mekong River
After breakfast tender ashore to visit a craft village famed for handmaking Ca Rang clay stoves, used for hundreds of years by the Southern Vietnamese people. After lunch head ashore by sampan and explore Tiger Island by a 3-wheeled ‘Xe loi’ and visit local cottage industries like plant pot and incense making. Visit the site ‘Mr. Tiger Temple’ and learn how the Island received its name. This evening on the ship enjoy a cocktail competition and some more local entertainers. (B,L,D)
Day 10: Tuesday 21 Jan 2025
Mekong River
Travel by tender to the Long Xuyen floating market for a glimpse of this unique culture with life lived almost exclusively on the river. Later visit the An Giang Museum with exhibits on the Kinh, Chinese, Khmer and Cham cultures that all inhabit the region. This afternoon visit a family who make delicate tofu skin and learn about the many uses for the final product. This afternoon on the ship enjoy a ‘Don Cai Tai Tu’ folk music performance followed by a farewell dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 11: Wednesday 22 Jan 2025
Mekong River—Ho Chi Minh City
Disembark the Victoria Mekong and travel to Cai Be for lunch at the Le Longanier Restaurant. Travel to Ho Chi Minh City and check in to the hotel with some free time in the afternoon. This evening enjoy a Vintage Vespa Scooter experience, navigating the dense local traffic as a pillion passenger to visit hidden corners of the city and gain a deeper understanding of local life. Day 12: Thursday 23 Jan 2025
Ho Chi Minh City
Travel out of Saigon to visit a local family to learn about rice paper production, a staple in Vietnamese cuisine. Later visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. Explore the site with a local guide viewing relics of tanks, bomb craters and more, and learn how the Viet Cong survived underground in their ingenious tunnel network. This afternoon visit the Independence Palace, former residence of the President of South Vietnam. Next visit is the War Remnants Museum (formerly the Museum of American War Crimes) with artefacts and photographs documenting the effects of the war. (B,L)

Ho Chi Minh City to Hoi An
Fly from Ho Chi Minh to Da Nang and transfer to the riverside city of Hoi An. Visit the Museum of Cham’s Hindu-influenced sculptures dating from the 7th to 15th centuries. Check into the resort and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. (B)

Hoi An
This morning visit My Son Holy Land of the Cham temple ruins, one of the most important examples of Hindu influence in South East Asia. After lunch in a local restaurant enjoy a walking tour of the ancient streets of Hoi An. Its unique architecture and colour make it one of the most tourist friendly and photogenic places in the country. Explore the Japanese Bridge, built in the early 16th Century by Japanese craftsmen who immigrated to the region along with other foreign merchants. (B,L)
Day 15: Sunday 26 Jan 2025
Hoi An to Hanoi
Transfer to Da Nang and fly to Hanoi. Spend the rest of the day exploring, beginning at the Ethnology Museum which gives an excellent overview of the country’s ethnic groups, customs and way of life. Next is the Temple of Literature, the first University in Vietnam, built in the 11th century and dedicated to Confucius. Enjoy a cyclo tour around the Old Quarter, ending at Hoan Kiem Lake, a historical site and a symbol of the city. Ngoc Son Temple occupies the larger island and is accessible via an iconic red wooden bridge. Later this afternoon enjoy a water puppet show, a unique art once performed in rice paddies that dates back hundreds of years. (B,L)

Hanoi to Halong Bay
Travel north across the Red River Delta to Halong Bay. Board a beautifully crafted wooden junk for an overnight cruise on the majestic seascape. Spend the afternoon relaxing and admiring the unique scenery before watching the sun set from the Skydeck. (B,L,D)

Halong Bay to Hanoi

Tour Changes
We endeavor to provide an accurate itinerary however, local operators, hotels and airlines sometimes change arrangements and our itinerary would then be adjusted to suit however, the same standard will always be used.
Not Included on tour
Travel insurance; Cambodia visa, Vietnam visa, tips during non-group arrangements; items of a personal nature eg drinks, laundry, phone calls, meals other than those indicated, additional sightseeing or optional tours; extensions/stopovers/amendments; additional flight cost from other cities if applicable, arrival and departure transfers at destination/s when not arriving/departing on group flights/dates.
Reservations
A deposit of $400 per person is required within 7 days of confirmation of your booking. the final balance due no later than 01 October 2024. If a booking is made after this date, the full tour price is due at the time of confirmation. Prices are subject to change at anytime until full payment has been received for entire group and tickets have been issued.
Booking Forms and Booking Conditions
You are required to complete some forms when booking which provide essential information we require to process your booking. Your consultant will provide you with all relevant forms.
Passport & Visas
It is necessary for all passengers to be in possession of a valid passport which has at least 6 months validity beyond your return into Australia. Australian passport holders require a visa for entry to Cambodia and Vietnam. The cost of the Visas are not included in the tour cost.
Minimum Numbers
Group fares quoted for this tour are subject to a minimum 10 paying and maximum 30 passengers travelling together. Phil Hoffmann Travel reserve the right to increase the tour price or cancel the tour should the numbers travelling not meet the required minimum.
Tour Escort
Escort travels when minimum numbers of 10 are reached.
Price Alterations
Tour prices specified are based on airfares, taxes and land arrangement tariffs applicable at the time of printing, therefore they may be subject to alteration with or without prior notice until final payment date, as per brochure final payment date (01 October 2024)
Extensions/stopovers
An amendment fee may apply for any changes to group flight arrangements. You may also need to pay any applicable additional taxes.
Amendments/changes
There may be fees charged per amendment by third party suppliers for any reservation changes after your booking is confirmed.
Twin share Room Match Policy
In the event of a cancellation for a twin share room match, the travelling passenger may be required to pay for a single room supplement cost, which will not be covered under their travel insurance policy. Similarly, if a traveler decides whilst travelling that they do not want to share any longer, they will be required to pay the full costs for a single room.
Refunds/Credits
No refund is available in respect of any sightseeing tours, accommodation, meals or any other services not utilised or required during this tour. No refund is available for cancellations after the tour has commenced.
Cancellations
Cancellations of firm bookings will be subject to $400 per person service fee plus any charges imposed by principals involved in operating the tour. Therefore, the cancellation fee may be up to the total cost for land and/or airfares. Cancelled bookings are non-transferable.
Baggage
Please refer to individual airline tickets for the baggage allowance for your flights. Airlines may charge you for baggage in excess of these allowances, which will be at passenger’s expense. Whilst on tour one main bag and 1 piece of hand luggage per person is allowed.
Medical Advice
It is wise to seek medical advice before travelling from travel specialist doctor, or from your own GP. Travellers must meet Phil Hoffmann Travel ’Statement of Fitness’ standards to participate.
Insurance
Insurance is compulsory for cover against loss of deposit and loss of airfares, personal accident, medical cover etc. If you have an ongoing medical condition you may be required to complete a pre-existing medical form. If you are over 70 years of age, you are required to complete a seniors medical form. Your consultant will provide all details.
Children
Participants must be over the age of 15.
Responsibility
Phil Hoffmann Travel reserves the right to alter or omit any part of the itinerary or change of reservation, features and/or means of conveyance without any notice and for any reason whatsoever. Phil Hoffmann Travel does not accept liability for failure on the part of transportation companies, hotel contractors and other principals whose responsibility is confined to their own operations. Phil Hoffmann Travel reserves the right to alter hotels used should the necessity arise. The transportation companies or firms shall be exempt from all liabilities in respect of any detention, delay, loss, damage, sickness or injury and by whom so ever caused and whatever kind occurring of or to the passenger at any time when the passenger is not on board a conveyance used or operated by the transportation companies or firms.
We reserve the right to take any reasonable action should your health, actions or behaviour impinge on the rights, welfare or enjoyment of other passengers. Phil Hoffmann Travel reserve the right to cancel or withdraw any person as a member of the tour at any time.
All ticket coupons and orders are furnished and issued subject in all respects to those terms and conditions under which the means of transportation or other services provided thereby are offered or supplied by the owners, operators, public carriers, management agents or agents.
