The Best of Croatia & Slovenia
A letter from Phil..
….as I once again visit one of my favourite destinations, Croatia in June 2023
Croatia is situated at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe. A country where West and East clashed over many centuries leaving behind a treasure trove of cultural wealth archeology, architecture, customs, and gourmet diversity.
Our exploration starts by land for 10 nights from Zagreb to Dubrovnik including first class accommodation, private air-conditioned luxury coach with private touring, experienced local guides, 13 meals, porterage, hotel tips and charges.
We will meet in Zagreb the capital of Croatia, to walk the historic cobble stoned streets, taste fresh produce at the market and experience the sophistication of this beautiful city also known as Little Vienna. Then journey on to the green country of Slovenia and its capital Ljubljana which has been announced as the winner of European Best Destination for 2022.
Travel north to the Julian Alps full of rivers, lakes, and forests before Slovenia’s most popular resort, Lake Bled will welcome us. Bled boasts a picture-postcard bluish-green lake where we visit a medieval castle clinging to a rocky cliff. After an impressive stay we continue for a stop at the incredible Postojna Caves which can be experienced by electric train. Then on to coastal Rovinj and the Istrian hinterland which is reminiscent of Italy’s Tuscany with its hilltop towns, vineyards, and olive groves
Our next stop is one of Croatia’s many national parks with the most renowned being Plitvice Lakes for its stunning travertine waterfalls and 16 cascading lakes. A UNESCO World Heritage Centre Plitvice Lakes can be marvelled by walkways and electric boats

find few galleries, souvenir shops offering local products (grappa and truffles), few bars and restaurants and one hotel. This will be followed by a visit to a small boutique winery nearby. The story of the Benvenuti winery is a story of family, tradition and terroir. Most enjoyable experience seeing and tasting these wines. (B)
