Istanbul—Canakkale via Gallipoli and ANZAC Cove
Drive along the shores of the Sea of Marmara to the Peninsula of Gelibolu—Gallipoli. It was here during WW1 that ANZAC troops fought for nine disastrous months against the Turks to gain control of the Dardanelle Straits. Visit key sites such as Anzac Cove, Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair and the Turkish and Allied trenches. Cross the sea to Canakkale taking us from Europe to Asia. Tonight, enjoy a lecture on the history of the Gallipoli Campaign by a local expert.
