Itinerary
DAY 1 → Colombo – Your Way Arrive in Colombo, meet and transfer to your seafront hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Optional Backstreets of Colombo tour available (early arrival required). Overnight: Colombo
DAY 2 → Colombo → Dambulla → Polonnaruwa → Dambulla Travel inland to Dambulla, stopping at Naramwela market. Visit Dambulla Rock Temple (ancient cave complex). Continue to Polonnaruwa to explore UNESCO-listed ruins including the Royal Palace and Gal Vihara. Return to Dambulla. Overnight: Dambulla Meals: Breakfast
DAY 3 → Dambulla → Sigiriya → Kandy Visit Sigiriya ‘Lion Rock’ fortress and its famous frescoes. Continue to Kayanwala Village for a local experience including a tractor ride, canoe trip, and traditional Sri Lankan lunch. Stop at a spice garden in Matale en route to Kandy. Overnight: Kandy Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
DAY 4 → Kandy Sightseeing tour of Kandy including the Temple of the Tooth Relic, Kandy Lake, local bazaar, and gem museum. Enjoy a tuk tuk ride into the hills. Visit Geragama Tea Factory and attend a traditional cultural performance. Overnight: Kandy Meals: Breakfast
DAY 5 → Kandy → Nuwara Eliya Free time before boarding a scenic train through tea plantations, waterfalls, and mountain landscapes to Nuwara Eliya (‘Little England’). Afternoon orientation drive. Overnight: Nuwara Eliya Meals: Breakfast
DAY 6 → Nuwara Eliya → Udawalawe National Park Travel south to Udawalawe. Afternoon jeep safari in the national park, known for large elephant populations, as well as leopard, sloth bear and deer. Overnight: Udawalawe National Park Meals: Breakfast
DAY 7 → Udawalawe → Colombo Visit Ratnapura Gem Mine and Museum. Return to Colombo for a city tour including the Fort area, Gangarama Temple, and Galle Face Green. Overnight: Colombo Meals: Breakfast
DAY 8 → Colombo Departure Free time before transfer to the airport for departure. Meals: Breakfast
