Starting May 1, 2025, international travellers to Thailand will be required to complete the new Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) prior to arrival. This replaces the traditional TM6 paper arrival form, streamlining the immigration process for a quicker and more efficient entry experience.

What is the TDAC?

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is an online form that all foreign visitors must fill out within 72 hours before arriving in Thailand. It replaces the outdated paper-based TM6 and is designed to simplify immigration procedures and reduce processing times at entry points.

Who Needs to Complete the TDAC?

The TDAC is mandatory for all international travellers, regardless of visa status.

Exemptions include:

  • Transit passengers who do not pass through Thai immigration.
  • Travellers with a border pass entering through designated land crossings.

How to Complete the TDAC – Step-by-Step

Filling out the TDAC is straightforward. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth entry:

  1. Visit the official website: Go to tdac.immigration.go.th and select “Arrival Card.”
  2. Enter personal details: Include your name, passport number, nationality, and visa number (if applicable).
  3. Add travel information: Provide your arrival date, transport details, travel purpose, and accommodation information.
  4. Complete the health section: Disclose countries visited in the past 14 days, as required by Thai health authorities.
  5. Review and confirm: Double-check your entries before submitting.
  6. Provide a valid email address: The TDAC will be sent as a PDF to your inbox.
  7. Save your TDAC: Keep a digital copy or print it out to present at immigration upon arrival.

Why Go Digital?

Thailand’s shift to digital immigration forms offers several advantages:

  • Faster processing at border control.
  • Improved data management for better oversight of arrivals.
  • Enhanced health screening, supporting public safety.
  • Eco-friendly and paperless solution.

Visa-Free Stay Update (Under Review)

Thailand is also reviewing a proposal to reduce visa-free stays for citizens of 93 countries. While the current limit is 60 days, the change could shorten it to 30 days. This proposal is still under consideration.

Part of a Global Digital Movement

Thailand joins a growing list of countries — including Cambodia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Cuba — in adopting digital immigration systems. This move is in line with global trends toward more streamlined and tech-driven travel experiences.
