Day 1: One night | Arrive Kuala Lumpur
Selamat Datang – welcome to Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL), you will be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel. Malaysia’s vibrant capital blends modern skyscrapers with colourful markets, shopping malls and a diverse food scene.
At 4pm, meet your guide in the hotel lobby for an introductory city tour before enjoying a welcome cocktail and dinner.

Day 2: One night | Kuala Lumpur – Malacca – Kuala Lumpur
After breakfast, travel to Malacca, a former colonial outpost rich in multicultural heritage. Spend the day exploring the city’s historic landmarks including the ruins of St. Paul’s Church, A Famosa and the Porta de Santiago gateway. Visit the famous Red Square before learning about the area’s Chinese influences at Cheng Hoon Teng Temple. Nearby Jonker Street is filled with antique shops and local treasures.
Return to Kuala Lumpur where the remainder of the evening is at leisure.

Day 3: One night | Kuala Lumpur – Sandakan
This morning enjoy a guided city tour of Kuala Lumpur. Visit the King’s Palace, pass Parliament House and see the National Monument at Lake Garden. Continue past the National Mosque and historic Railway Station before stopping for photos at Independence Square. Drive through Chinatown before transferring to Kuala Lumpur International Airport for your flight to Sandakan.
Welcome to Sandakan, gateway to Borneo’s wildlife. Once the capital of British North Borneo, the city is now a bustling port on Sabah’s east coast. On arrival, transfer to your hotel with the remainder of the evening at leisure.

Day 4: One night | Sandakan
After breakfast visit the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, dedicated to protecting the world’s smallest bear species. Continue to the Rainforest Discovery Centre to learn about the region’s flora and fauna and walk across the 147-metre canopy walkway.
After lunch, visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre where rescued orangutans are rehabilitated before being released back into the wild. Later, stop at the Sandakan War Memorial, a tribute to British and Australian prisoners of war, before returning to your hotel.

Day 5: One night | Sandakan – Labuk Bay – Sukau
Today visit the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, an excellent location to observe these distinctive primates in their natural mangrove habitat. The sanctuary is home to several families of proboscis monkeys alongside other wildlife including silver leaf monkeys, macaques, otters and kingfishers.
After the visit, transfer to Sandakan Yacht Club Jetty for a boat journey to your lodge along the Kinabatangan River. Later, enjoy an afternoon river cruise searching for wildlife along the riverbanks. If weather permits, watch fireflies illuminate the trees before returning to the lodge. Dinner is served at the resort followed by a nature documentary screening.

Day 6: One night | Sukau
Rise early to the sounds of gibbons and hornbills before heading out on a sunrise river cruise to observe wildlife along the Kinabatangan River. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax before another afternoon cruise for further wildlife sightings.
After dinner, head out on a night safari to search for Sukau’s nocturnal wildlife.

Day 7: One night | Sukau – Sandakan – Kota Kinabalu
Enjoy one final early wildlife cruise before returning by boat to Sandakan for lunch. Afterwards transfer to the airport for your short flight to Kota Kinabalu.
This vibrant waterfront city is surrounded by coral islands, rainforest-covered hills and scenic rivers, with Mount Kinabalu rising dramatically nearby as Southeast Asia’s highest peak. En route to your hotel, stop at a local seafood restaurant for dinner before check-in.
