I have recently returned from a very special adventure and celebration with family and friends, coming together aboard APT’s Lady Eleganza for a journey along the beautiful Croatian Adriatic coast. From Rovinj to Dubrovnik, we discovered beautiful coastal cities and towns, idyllic islands, secluded bays and memorable culinary experiences.
Purpose-built in Croatia for the Adriatic, Lady Eleganza offers the intimacy and freedom that only a small private yacht can provide. Rather than following the crowds, we slipped into smaller ports, lingered in beautiful anchorages and enjoyed swim stops in clear, inviting water. Days unfolded at an unhurried pace, with attentive hospitality, relaxed dining and time to reconnect.
Our adventure began with a pre-cruise stay in Zagreb, giving everyone time to arrive, settle in and enjoy Croatia’s lively capital together. We then travelled to romantic Rovinj, one of Istria’s most enchanting towns, to board Lady Eleganza and begin our journey. From here, our yacht traced Croatia’s extraordinary coastline through Pula, Mali Lošinj, Zadar, the Kornati Islands, Šibenik, Omiš, Korčula and Slano before reaching its magnificent finale in Dubrovnik.
Our first days revealed the character and history of Istria. In Rovinj, pastel-coloured houses rose above a picturesque harbour, with cobbled lanes leading to the hilltop Church of St Euphemia. Nearby Pula offered an extraordinary contrast, dominated by its remarkably preserved Roman amphitheatre and ancient monuments.
We then cruised south to Mali Lošinj, a graceful island harbour surrounded by pine forests and clear coves. It was an ideal place to stroll the waterfront, enjoy an alfresco lunch or simply appreciate the gentle rhythm of island life. Zadar followed, blending Roman ruins and medieval churches with two imaginative modern landmarks: the Sea Organ, played by the movement of the waves, and the luminous Greeting to the Sun.
One of the great privileges of cruising on a small yacht in Croatia is the ability to cruise through the Kornati Islands. This remarkable archipelago of pale limestone islands, hidden bays and intensely blue water is among the Adriatic’s most memorable landscapes. We enjoyed its beauty from the sea before coming ashore for a special waterfront lunch.
In Šibenik, we wandered through a handsome old town crowned by fortresses, visited the UNESCO-listed Cathedral of St James and explored the beautiful waterfalls of Krka National Park. Omiš brought a change of scenery, where dramatic mountains met the mouth of the Cetina River. Here, many explored the old pirate town, while others preferred a leisurely coffee beneath the cliffs or time beside the water.
Nearby, Bol introduced us to the refined wines of Stina Winery for an amazing experience on the waterfront. Korčula offered another highlight, a beautifully preserved medieval town set on a fortified peninsula, often described as a miniature Dubrovnik. We had time to explore its stone streets and atmospheric waterfront taverns before gathering to share the day’s discoveries.
The final stages of our voyage were equally rewarding. From Slano, we experienced the Neretva wetlands by traditional boat and then travelled to Mali Ston for a private oyster experience, travelling across the bay to floating beds to taste shellfish freshly harvested from the water.
Finally, Dubrovnik, framed by the Adriatic, with the city’s monumental walls, marble streets and terracotta rooftops, created an unforgettable conclusion. There was time to explore independently, perhaps walking the walls, visiting historic palaces or enjoying a final meal overlooking the sea.
Food and wine were a joyful thread throughout our voyage. At Stina Winery in Bol, we tasted expressive Dalmatian wines paired with artisan cheeses, olives and cured meats. Elsewhere, leisurely lunches, local specialties and fresh seafood connected us with each region we visited.
There was also generous time to enjoy Lady Eleganza herself, breakfast on deck, a quiet afternoon swim, sunset drinks and relaxed evenings beneath the stars. This balance of private touring, authentic local encounters and time at leisure was what made the journey feel effortless. Everything had been considered, yet each day left room for spontaneity.
This voyage was about far more than seeing Croatia. It was a chance to celebrate, share new experiences and create stories we will tell for years. Selected meals, private transfers and signature experiences were woven seamlessly into the journey, while independent time allowed everyone the freedom to explore, relax or simply enjoy the yacht. It was sophisticated without being formal, beautifully organised without feeling structured and personal in every sense.

I thoroughly recommend this Croatian Adriatic cruise through with APT on Lady Eleganza and recommend you contact myself or one of our team to enquire how you may join such an amazing experience.
