Itinerary

Day 1

Amman

Upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative holding a sign with your name near the immigration area. They will assist you with luggage collection and escort you to your transfer vehicle. Your English-speaking driver will then take you to your hotel in Amman. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to relax or explore the vibrant city.

Day 2

Amman - Jerash

After breakfast, set out on a fascinating tour of Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the world. Known in ancient times as Gerasa, Jerash is a remarkable showcase of history, featuring colonnaded streets, soaring temples, grand theatres, and expansive plazas.

Second only to Petra among Jordan’s most celebrated sites, Jerash boasts an unbroken chain of human settlement spanning more than 6,500 years. Its golden age came under Roman rule, and today it is widely regarded as one of the finest surviving examples of a provincial Roman city.

Buried beneath the sand for centuries before extensive excavation and restoration over the past 70 years, Jerash now reveals the grandeur of Roman urban planning. Highlights include paved and colonnaded avenues, hilltop temples, elegant theatres, spacious public squares, baths, fountains, and fortified city walls with towers and gates.

After lunch in Jerash, return to Amman for a relaxed walking tour along Rainbow Street, followed by a visit to the impressive King Abdullah Mosque.

Day 3

Amman - Petra

Begin your day with a visit to the sacred baptism site of Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist. Recognised by major Christian traditions, this revered site holds deep significance in the history of Christianity.

Next, ascend to Mount Nebo, where Moses once gazed upon the Promised Land. Explore the ancient monastery and take in the breathtaking panoramic views. Continue to Madaba, famed for its exquisite mosaics, including the renowned 6th century map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.

Then, visit the Christian town of Madaba, often called “The City of Mosaics.”  On your way to Petra, stop at the imposing Kerak Castle, a formidable Crusader fortress with a rich and turbulent history.

Arrive at your hotel in Petra, where the evening is free for you to enjoy at your leisure.

Day 4

Petra

After breakfast, immerse yourself in the wonders of Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Petra, Jordan’s most famous tourist attraction, is a national treasure located about three hours south of Amman. Built by the Nabataeans over 2,000 years ago, the city is celebrated for its refined culture, monumental architecture, and ingenious network of dams and water channels. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage site that enchants visitors from around the globe.

Much of Petra’s allure comes from its dramatic setting deep within a narrow desert gorge. Accessed via a kilometre-long Siq, the walls rise 200 metres on either side, creating a breathtaking approach to the site. The Treasury, Petra’s most iconic monument, emerges dramatically at the end of the Siq.  For the more adventurous, the climb to the Monastery offers spectacular views of the Arava Valley.

Return to your hotel to relax before an unforgettable evening experience: Petra by Night. Walk the candle-lit path through the Siq to the Treasury, serenaded by haunting Bedouin music under the starry sky. Experiencing Petra by daylight is awe-inspiring, but at night, illuminated by candles, it becomes magical.

Day 5

Petra - Wadi Rum

Today, venture into the awe-inspiring desert landscapes of Wadi Rum. Enjoy a thrilling 4x4 Jeep tour through vast, silent expanses and past towering rock formations sculpted by nature over millennia. Dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of the desert promise a truly magical experience under the stars.

Sun City Camp in Wadi Rum offers a unique glamping experience amidst one of the world’s most stunning desert landscapes. This luxurious camp blends traditional Bedouin hospitality with modern comforts, featuring spacious, well-appointed tents and futuristic Martian domes. Take in breathtaking views of the dramatic red sandstone formations and endless desert sands. The camp offers a range of activities, including 4x4 Jeep tours, and stargazing, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in Wadi Rum’s serene beauty.

Day 6

Wadi Rum - Dead Sea

After breakfast, journey to the lowest point on Earth, the Dead Sea. This unique body of water, rich in salts and minerals, offers an unparalleled therapeutic experience. Float effortlessly on its buoyant waters and indulge in rejuvenating mud treatments.

The Jordan Rift Valley is a dramatic and breathtaking landscape, and at the Dead Sea, it lies over 400 metres below sea level. The Dead Sea’s main attraction is its warm, soothing, super-salty water - about ten times saltier than the ocean and rich in magnesium, sodium, potassium, bromine, and other minerals. Its unusually warm, buoyant, and healing waters have drawn visitors since ancient times, including King Herod the Great and the legendary Queen Cleopatra.

Spend the rest of the day relaxing, floating, and enjoying the therapeutic properties of this extraordinary natural wonder, perhaps indulge in a spa treatments offered at the resort (additional cost).

Day 7

Dead Sea - Amman

Spend a leisurely morning at the Dead Sea before heading to Iraq al-Amir. Here, visit the Women's Cooperative, a remarkable initiative empowering local women through the production of handmade crafts and delicious food. Enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by the cooperative before returning to Amman for your final night.

The Iraq Al Amir Women’s Cooperative Association was established over two decades ago by the Noor Al-Hussein Foundation (NHF) with the goal of empowering women to achieve financial independence and improve their standard of living, while preserving local heritage.

Under the NHF’s guidance, the project employed 41 women in producing handmade paper, hand-woven fabrics, ceramics, and food products. Following the cooperative’s full ownership of the project, the NHF focused on capacity building, providing extensive training in finance and administration, quality control, product design, marketing, and donor relations.

The cooperative is dedicated to preserving local culture, protecting the environment, and offering meaningful employment to village women. The workshop is organised into three main domains: handmade paper production, pottery, and a hand-weaving mill featuring three handlooms. In addition, the women of Iraq Al Amir are renowned for their fresh, high-quality produce, often catering for visitors and clients.
