Please note: The hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest) is physically demanding (see Day 11). The tour involves some long travel days on winding and steep roads, so smaller coaches are used, with a dedicated guide in each vehicle. Destinations are remote and at altitudes from 1,200 to just under 3,500 metres, so the tour is best suited to adventurous travellers in good physical condition. Guests complete a Fitness to Travel declaration within seven days of booking.
The journey begins in Delhi, India's vibrant capital, where centuries of history meet the energy of modern life. Busy streets are filled with rickshaws, markets and street vendors.
Guests can arrive at any time today and settle into the hotel or head out to explore a little of the city at their own pace, relaxing ahead of the Bhutan adventure that begins tomorrow.
Special note: This tour visits remote, off-the-beaten-path destinations at altitudes ranging from 1,200 metres to just under 3,500 metres. Expect some long travel days on winding and steep roads, with smaller vehicles used due to the nature of the roads. Flexibility and a willingness to embrace the adventure are essential.
