Itinerary

Day 1: Sunday 7 Feb 
Depart from Australia to Norfolk Island. On arrival transfer to the hotel, check in and enjoy some free time to settle in. This evening enjoy dinner at Bailey’s Restaurant located at Governor’s Lodge. The restaurant is a beautifully restored Island home, offering historic ambience with a modern Australian menu. (D)

Stay: South Pacific Resort – 6 nights*

Day 2: Monday 8 Feb 
After breakfast at the resort, head out on a half day orientation tour of Norfolk Island. The tour is designed to familiarise visitors with the Island’s geography and discover the locations of important places to see and experience, as well as gaining a better understanding of the Island’s history and culture. Conclude the tour with a visit to the Cyclorama, bringing to life the history of the Norfolk Island people and their connection to the Mutiny on the Bounty. The 360panoramic painting with realistic 3D effects has been impressing visitors to Norfolk Island for over 18 years. After some free time to relax be prepared to discover some firsthand insights into local Norfolk Island life with a Progressive Dinner. Enjoy a 3-course meal, with each course being served in a different family home. Moving from house to house, learn about the Island’s fascinating history and get to know the warm and welcoming locals that call it home. (B, D)

Day 3: Tuesday 9 Feb
This morning travel to Pitcairn Settlers Village to learn the colourful history of Norfolk Island’s most recent settlement. View the magnificent homestead and gardens, including many of the traditional crops. Visit a blacksmith’s forge, a WWII army hut and museum of memorabilia. 

Enjoy lunch at Hilli’s Restaurant which emphasises the Norfolk Island concept of ‘taking it easy’, while serving local seasonal produce in their manicured grounds. 

After lunch travel to author Colleen McCullough’s house. She and husband, Ric Robinson, created a luxurious hideaway and maintained their privacy to ensure that Colleen had the perfect environment for her writing.

This evening is a must-try for all visitors to Norfolk Island – the Island Fish Fry. For over 40 years this event has been serving up a feast of local dishes, salads and homemade bread topped off with mouth-watering fried fish. The food is just the beginning as the sun sets over the coastal scenery providing a fitting backdrop for dinner. As night falls on Kingston, witness the Sound and Light Show. Be transported with tales of the brave souls who lived through decades of convict history with theatrical lighting and costumed actors. (B, L, D) 

Day 4: Wednesday 10 Feb 
This morning take a relaxing walk through the lush Palm Glen Reserve. For those looking for more adventure, hike the 3.5 km trail to Mt. Bates, the island’s highest point, and visit the Captain Cook Monument. After the walk enjoy a delicious breakfast BBQ. Enjoy some relaxing time before a light lunch served at the South Pacific Resort. 

After lunch take a glass bottom boat tour where a local guide will share their knowledge of Norfolk’s unique marine life, coral gardens and tropical fish in the clear waters of the lagoon.

This evening indulge at the Barney Buffy BBQ, dining on steak, sausages and a variety of sides and trimmings before enjoying Wonderland by Night, a walk through a forest illuminated by fairy lights. Along the way be regaled by humorous and poignant tales of family life and stories written by local author, Archie Bigg. (B, L, D)

 Day 5: Thursday 11 Feb
Today discover local industries, meet skilled artisans and talk to entrepreneurs as they show their unique crafts and specialties. From handcrafted pottery to locally mode soft drinks, enjoy the chance to taste and purchase some locally-made products. After the tour, lunch will be served at the South Pacific Resort. This evening get ready for a night of spine-tingling stories and eerie encounters on a Norfolk Island Ghost Tour. Start with dinner in a 1870s Colonial Homestead before wandering through the ruins. Your guide will regale you with tales of ghostly apparitions, tragic events and mysterious happenings from the Island’s dark history. (B, L, D)

 Day 6: Friday 12 Feb
After breakfast visit a market garden that supplies vegetables to the Island and learn about providing seasonal produce. Tour a farm with beef cattle to understand the unique farming practices and a free-range chicken farm to learn how they supply the Island with eggs. The last stop will be at a local home for a 2-course lunch featuring local ingredients. 

out on a convict settlement tour to learn more about the living showcase of Polynesian, convict, and Pitcairn Islander history. Discover the stories behind the colonial headstones in the cemetery and the beautiful historic houses on Quality Row. Explore the New Gaol ruins, the Pier Store, Boat Shed, and Crank Mill, all of which offer a glimpse into the intriguing past of Norfolk Island. Experience firsthand the incredible history of this unique location, as our knowledgeable guides share their insights and stories about this captivating place.

Finish the day with a Night as a Convict Dinner. Dress up as a convict and join the Commandant for a delicious meal, fun and laughter. (B, L, D)

Day 7: Saturday 13 Feb
Say farewell this morning to Norfolk Island, beginning the journey back to Australia. (B)
