Day 1: Arrive Quito

The journey begins in Quito, Ecuador's high-altitude capital nestled in the Andean foothills. Founded on an ancient Inca settlement, Quito's UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town showcases beautifully preserved colonial architecture, colourful plazas and ornate churches. After arrival, settle into the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Quito Sightseeing

A guided tour explores Quito's historic Old Town, one of the best-preserved colonial centres in South America. Wander through cobblestone streets, admire the city's architectural treasures and sample locally produced Ecuadorian chocolate. Later, travel to the famous Middle of the World City and stand astride the Equator line before returning to Quito.

Day 3: Quito - Baltra - Mosquera Islet

Following breakfast, a flight to Baltra marks the beginning of the Galápagos expedition cruise. Upon embarkation aboard MS Santa Cruz II, the first excursion visits Mosquera Islet. Home to one of the archipelago's largest sea lion colonies, the island also offers opportunities to spot blue-footed boobies and Sally Lightfoot crabs while learning about the unique ecosystems of the Galápagos.

Day 4: Punta Pitt & Cerro Colorado, San Cristóbal

Explore Punta Pitt, the only location in the Galápagos where three species of boobies may be seen together. Activities may include a nature walk, coastal exploration by small boat, snorkelling or swimming. Later, visit the Cerro Colorado Tortoise Reserve to observe the iconic giant tortoise and learn about ongoing conservation efforts.

Day 5: Santa Fe & South Plaza Islands

A morning excursion on Santa Fe Island offers opportunities to see endemic Barrington land iguanas and resident sea lions. Guests may choose to swim, kayak or view marine life from a glass-bottom boat. In the afternoon, South Plaza Island showcases dramatic scenery, diverse birdlife, land iguanas and marine iguanas.

Day 6: Santa Cruz Island

Visit the renowned Charles Darwin Research Station in Puerto Ayora, where conservation programs help protect the Galápagos giant tortoise. Explore exhibits relating to Charles Darwin's discoveries before heading into the greener highlands of Santa Cruz, where giant tortoises roam freely. Additional activities may include mountain biking or visiting a local sugar plantation.

Day 7: Española Island

Discover Española Island, the southernmost island in the Galápagos archipelago and a haven for birdlife. Depending on the season, sightings may include waved albatrosses, Nazca boobies and blue-footed boobies. The island is also home to marine iguanas, distinctive red lava lizards and the dramatic blowhole, El Soplador. Later, visit Gardner Bay and Osborn Islet, with opportunities for snorkelling and kayaking.

Day 8: Eden Islet & North Seymour

Wildlife encounters continue at Eden Islet, where green turtles, reef sharks and rays may be spotted in surrounding waters. Guests can snorkel, swim, kayak or explore via glass-bottom boat. In the afternoon, North Seymour Island offers excellent opportunities to view colonies of blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, sea lions and marine iguanas.

Day 9: Baltra - Quito

The expedition concludes in Baltra. After disembarkation, a transfer takes guests to the airport for the included flight to Quito or Guayaquil, where onward international flight connections can be made. The journey ends with unforgettable memories of the Galápagos Islands' extraordinary wildlife and landscapes.
