Overview

From the painted skies and thriving waterways of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre to the ancient stories of Arnhem Land, witness Australia’s wild beauty on full display. Record-breaking floods are currently on their way to Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre, making it the perfect time to celebrate the 2026 release of Outback Spirit's all-inclusive, small group tour to see this natural wonder!

Nestled 15 metres below sea level, Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre is the largest salt lake on the continent and has a density twice that of the Dead Sea. Visitors to South Australia's rugged interior are eagerly awaiting the return of over six million birds, including pelicans travelling from as far away as Papua New Guinea, as this year's inland floods promise to deliver a spectacular display of colour and wildlife.

Lake Eyre

Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre, Australia's largest salt lake and the 13th largest lake in the world is one of the most spectacular sights in the outback. Fly over its vast expanse, taking in Lake Eyre North and South before passing over the Warburton Creek system.

Marree Man

Enjoy a scenic flight over this modern geoglyph that lies on a plateau in central SA. The desert artwork is said to depict an Indigenous man hunting and makes for an incredible spectacle from the air.

Wilpena Pound

Explore the incredible natural amphitheatre of Wilpena Pound, a valley surrounded by a rim of mountains in the Flinders Ranges, one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth. Also visit Sacred Canyon to view ancient Aboriginal sandstone engravings.
