Great news for South Australian travellers and lovers of all things Aotearoa—Air New Zealand is strengthening its ties with Adelaide by introducing its first-ever direct flights to Christchurch, launching in October 2025.

This exciting seasonal non-stop service will run twice weekly through to March 2026, with flights touching down in Adelaide every Monday and Friday evening at 7:55pm, and departing for Christchurch every Tuesday and Saturday morning at 7:00am. Operated by the comfortable Airbus A320 or A321 aircraft, these new routes make it easier than ever to explore the South Island's natural wonders, vibrant culture, and renowned hospitality.

Whether you're dreaming of sipping wine in the Waipara Valley, soaking in the views from the TranzAlpine rail journey, or heading further afield to Queenstown or Fiordland, flying direct to Christchurch is your perfect starting point.

Air New Zealand is also boosting connectivity to the North Island. From November 2025, flights between Adelaide and Auckland will increase to six times per week, offering even more flexibility for both leisure and business travellers.

Auckland, the City of Sails, is a vibrant gateway to the Bay of Islands, Rotorua’s geothermal marvels, and world-class food and wine regions like Waiheke Island. With more frequent departures and seamless connections to domestic New Zealand destinations, your Kiwi getaway just got a whole lot easier.

With Christchurch and Auckland now more accessible than ever before, there’s never been a better time to start planning your next New Zealand adventure.
