Guests will have the opportunity to view the Horizontal Falls; however, the vessel will not cruise through them.
Day 4 – Montgomery Reef & Freshwater Cove (B,L,D) Wake to Montgomery Reef, the world’s largest inshore reef, where dramatic tidal movements create cascading waterfalls and expose reef structures. Scenic Discovery: Subject to conditions and approvals, explore Montgomery Reef by Zodiac and observe marine life including turtles, octopus, sharks, rays and dolphins.
Day 5 – Careening Bay & Port Nelson (B,L,D) Explore Careening Bay, named after HMS Mermaid, repaired here in 1820. The interplay of light across sandstone and basalt cliffs provides a striking natural backdrop.
Day 6 – Hunter River & Mitchell Falls (B,L,D) Cruise through York Sound to the mouth of the Hunter River, surrounded by towering escarpments and monsoon rainforest. Optional helicopter experiences may provide aerial views of the Hunter River or Mitchell Falls (additional cost).
