Itinerary
Day 1 – Stresa Welcome
Stay: La Palma Hotel, Stresa, Lake Maggiore Meals: D Meet in central Milan at 2.00pm before transferring to the beautiful lakeside town of Stresa on Lake Maggiore, where you'll spend the next four nights. This evening, enjoy a welcome drink before dinner and meet your Tour Manager and fellow travellers.
Day 2 – Villa Carlotta & Lake Como Cruise
Stay: La Palma Hotel, Stresa, Lake Maggiore Meals: B, D Travel to Tremezzo to visit the world-famous Villa Carlotta, renowned for its magnificent Italianate gardens overlooking Lake Como. Continue with a private cruise across the lake to picturesque Bellagio, passing elegant lakeside villas along the way. Enjoy free time to explore this charming village before returning to Stresa for dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 3 – Macugnaga & Orta San Giulio
Stay: La Palma Hotel, Stresa, Lake Maggiore Meals: B Journey into the Italian Alps to the mountain village of Macugnaga, nestled beneath the towering Monte Rosa massif. Enjoy free time to explore or take an optional cable car ride for spectacular alpine views. Later, visit the charming lakeside town of Orta San Giulio on romantic Lake Orta before returning to Stresa.
Day 4 – Islands of Lake Maggiore
Stay: La Palma Hotel, Stresa, Lake Maggiore Meals: B Cruise to the Borromean Islands, beginning with Isola Bella and its magnificent palace and Italian gardens. Continue to picturesque Isola Pescatori, where you'll have free time for lunch and to wander its quaint laneways before returning to Stresa for a leisurely afternoon.
Day 5 – Lake Garda & CastelBrando
Stay: Hotel CastelBrando, Cison di Valmarino Meals: B, D Travel east to beautiful Lake Garda, Italy's largest lake, surrounded by citrus groves and colourful lakeside villages. Enjoy free time for lunch before continuing to the magnificent CastelBrando, your home for the next two nights.
Day 6 – Venice Sightseeing & 'My Time'
Stay: Hotel CastelBrando, Cison di Valmarino Meals: B, D Travel to Venice and board a private boat to St Mark's Square. Join a local guide for a walking tour, including a visit to the magnificent Doge's Palace. The remainder of the day is yours to wander Venice's enchanting canals, bridges and hidden laneways at your own pace.
Day 7 – Montecatini Terme, Tuscany
Stay: Hotel Ercolini & Savi, Montecatini Terme Meals: B, D Journey south into Tuscany and arrive in the elegant spa town of Montecatini Terme, where you'll stay for the next five nights. This evening, enjoy dinner at a traditional Tuscan olive oil farmhouse estate.
Day 8 – Florence Sightseeing & 'My Time'
Stay: Hotel Ercolini & Savi, Montecatini Terme Meals: B, D Discover the Renaissance city of Florence with a local guide, taking in the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and the renowned Accademia Gallery, home to Michelangelo's David. Spend the afternoon at leisure to explore Florence's cafés, boutiques and historic streets.
Day 9 – Lucca, Pisa & Tuscan Farmhouse
Stay: Hotel Ercolini & Savi, Montecatini Terme Meals: B, D Explore the medieval city of Lucca before travelling to Pisa, where a petit train takes you to the Piazza dei Miracoli to visit the Cathedral, Baptistery, Camposanto and the famous Leaning Tower. Later, enjoy olive oil tasting, Tuscan wines and a light dinner featuring the farm's own produce.
Day 10 – Cinque Terre
Stay: Hotel Ercolini & Savi, Montecatini Terme Meals: B, D Cruise along the spectacular Cinque Terre coastline, visiting the colourful villages of Portovenere and Monterosso before returning to Levanto by train.
Day 11 – 'My Time' in Tuscany
Stay: Hotel Ercolini & Savi, Montecatini Terme Meals: B Enjoy a full day at leisure. Return to Florence, relax in Montecatini Terme, visit a local spa, or simply unwind with a coffee or glass of wine while soaking up the atmosphere.
Day 12 – San Gimignano, Siena & Spoleto
Stay: Hotel Dei Duchi, Spoleto, Umbria Meals: B, D Travel through Tuscany, visiting the medieval hill town of San Gimignano before enjoying free time in Siena. Continue into Umbria to the charming town of Spoleto, where you'll stay for the next two nights.
Day 13 – Assisi & 'My Time' in Spoleto
Stay: Hotel Dei Duchi, Spoleto, Umbria Meals: B Join a guided tour of Assisi, including the Basilica of St Francis, before returning to Spoleto for a leisurely afternoon to explore its cobbled streets, cafés and historic landmarks.
Day 14 – Pompeii & the Amalfi Coast
Stay: Reginna Palace Hotel, Maiori Meals: B, D Visit the remarkably preserved ruins of Pompeii with a local guide before continuing to the Amalfi Coast. Spend the next three nights in Maiori, the perfect base for exploring this spectacular coastline.
Day 15 – Capri
Stay: Reginna Palace Hotel, Maiori Meals: B, D Cruise to the beautiful island of Capri, where you'll tour Anacapri and visit the Gardens of Augustus overlooking the iconic Faraglioni rocks. Enjoy free time to explore Capri's boutiques and cafés before returning to Maiori.
Day 16 – Amalfi & Ravello
Stay: Reginna Palace Hotel, Maiori Meals: B Cruise from Maiori to Amalfi before enjoying free time to explore. Later, visit the hilltop village of Ravello, famed for its breathtaking coastal views, elegant gardens and charming piazzas. Return to Maiori for a relaxed evening.
Day 17 – Villa Adriana & Rome
Stay: Best Western Premier Hotel Royal Santina, Rome Meals: B, D Visit UNESCO World Heritage-listed Villa Adriana in Tivoli before continuing to Rome. This evening, celebrate your journey with a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 18 – Rome
Stay: Best Western Premier Hotel Royal Santina, Rome Meals: B Your Italian adventure concludes after breakfast.
