Day 1: Johannesburg: Hotel Stay

You holiday begins as you fly overnight from Australia. Arriving in Johannesburg, transfer to your hotel and check in for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Johannesburg

Recharge from your flight in South Africa’s energetic largest city, a place of resilience, culture and remarkable stories.

Day 3: Chobe National Park: Hotel Stay

Fly to Victoria Falls before transferring to Botswana, where the Chobe Marina Lodge welcomes you. Chobe National Park is renowned for having one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephant, alongside buffalo, giraffe and a rich variety of birdlife along the Chobe River.

Day 4: Chobe National Park: Tour & Hotel Stay

Rise early for a game drive across Chobe’s golden plains, tracking elephant, antelope and prowling predators as the bush wakes around you. In the afternoon, board a river safari along the Chobe River, drifting past hippo and crocodile as herds gather at the water’s edge.

Day 5: Chobe National Park: Tour & Hotel Stay

Spend the morning at leisure, soaking up the tranquillity of the lodge, before an afternoon game drive offers a final opportunity to spot Chobe’s abundant wildlife, from grazing herds and towering giraffe to the predators that stalk the riverbanks as dusk settles over the park.

Day 6: Livingstone: Hotel Stay

Transfer onward to Livingstone, your base for the next three nights. Set on the banks of the Zambezi River, this is your gateway to Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, where the roar of falling water and drifting spray can be felt long before you see it.

Day 7: Livingstone: Embark Royal Livingstone Express

Board the Royal Livingstone Express along the historic Cape to Cairo mainline towards the Victoria Falls Bridge, pausing there before continuing onto the Mulobezi Line through the Zambezi River Valley, elephant and antelope often spotted en route.

Day 8: Livingstone: Tour & Hotel Stay

A guided walking tour takes you to the park entrance to discover how Victoria Falls, came to be. This afternoon, board the Lady Livingstone for a sunset cruise up Siloka Island, with a chef and host on board throughout.

Day 9: Cape Town: Hotel Stay

Flying into Cape Town, you will transfer to your hotel and check in for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Cape Town: Embark Ship

This afternoon, make your way to the port and embark Azamara Onward, home for the next twenty-four nights, as the ship slips away beneath the shadow of Table Mountain and sets a course north along the Atlantic coast.

Wedged between towering dunes and a wild Atlantic shoreline, Lüderitz feels like a mirage, pastel German colonial facades rising improbably from the edge of the Namib Desert. Wander its quiet streets and you’ll find a town shaped as much by diamonds and desert winds as by history.

Day 13: Walvis Bay: Overnight in Port

Flamingos wade in shallow lagoons, seals bask along the harbour wall, and towering dunes tumble almost into the surf, Walvis Bay a place where desert and ocean collide in dramatic fashion. Namibia rarely offers a more striking contrast than this.

Day 14: Walvis Bay

A second day here is no hardship. The Namib, thought to be the world’s oldest desert, unfurls in copper and ochre dunes against a cold Atlantic swell, its silence and scale a world away from anywhere else on this voyage.

Days 15 - 17: Relax At Sea

Few places on Earth feel as remote as St. Helena, a speck of volcanic rock rising sheer from the South Atlantic. Best known as Napoleon Bonaparte’s final home and resting place, its cobbled lanes and slow, unhurried pace reward the curious traveller.

Day 27: Gran Canaria

Often called a miniature continent, Gran Canaria packs pine forests, volcanic peaks and golden dunes into one compact island. In Las Palmas, colonial balconies and cobbled lanes hint at centuries of seafaring history, long before the beaches take over.

Day 28: Lanzarote

Day 29: Agadir, Morocco

Sweeping golden sands back onto the snow-dusted Atlas Mountains, Agadir makes an easy, relaxed introduction to Morocco. Beyond the beach, souks brim with spice and colour, while the surrounding countryside carries centuries of Berber tradition in its villages and argan groves.

Day 30: Casablanca, Morocco

Morocco’s largest city meets you with grand boulevards and the unmistakable silhouette of the Hassan II Mosque, its minaret rising above the Atlantic. Casablanca’s French colonial elegance and labyrinthine medina sit side by side, a city of contrasts at every turn.

Day 31: Gibraltar

The Rock looms large the moment you arrive, limestone cliffs framing a curious blend of British tradition and Mediterranean warmth. Wander its fortified lanes, watch for the famous Barbary macaques, and take in views that stretch clean across to Africa.

Day 32: Málaga

Málaga wears its history lightly, tapas bars and sun-bleached facades lining streets where Pablo Picasso once played as a boy. Climb to the Alcazaba for sweeping views, or simply drift through the Paseo del Parque as evening settles over Andalusia.
